Local preview: analytics is simulated. Google collection and Awin referral links are off in this build. The notice below describes the proposed public service.
Optional tracking is your choice. You can browse and shop without accepting it.
What stays on your device
Your typed squishy description is processed in your browser. We do not upload it or send it to Google or Awin. Refreshing or resetting clears this finder session. Photo upload and discovery from pasted product links are not currently available. We do not offer accounts, a checkout or a visitor-photo analysis service.
Running the website
Our hosting provider, Amazon Web Services, receives page and asset requests, including network information such as your IP address and requested URL. These requests support delivery, security and troubleshooting. Hosting logs are separate from optional analytics and are not disabled by rejecting cookies. Do not put private information into a page URL.
Usage analytics: Google Analytics
If you allow usage analytics in Privacy choices, Google receives page and link information, campaign and referral sources, cookie identifiers, browser and device information, general location derived from the connection, and site interactions. We use reports to understand how people find and use SquishSome and improve discovery.
Enhanced measurement is enabled for page views, scrolling, outbound links, site search, form interactions, supported videos and file downloads. Some features do not have a corresponding surface on the current site. Our search words stay out of the page URL and analytics; custom events use known product identifiers, action categories and result-count ranges. Google still receives the network request, so this is not anonymous measurement.
Google advertising features
If you separately allow advertising features, we enable Google Signals and ads-personalization signals for your permitted analytics activity. These can combine first-party analytics identifiers with Google advertising cookies or other identifiers. For eligible signed-in users with Google ads personalization enabled, Google can associate activity with Google-account information and provide demographic, interest and cross-device reporting. This can support personalized advertising.
We do not supply names, email addresses, account IDs, raw search words, photos, pasted links or inferred health conditions to these features. We do not use your squishy search text to create health-related advertising audiences. Google’s use of information also depends on your Google settings and its policies.
Read how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s business data responsibilities. You can also use Google My Ad Center and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Awin referrals and merchant websites
We may earn a commission when you buy through our shop links. With referral-cookie permission, an enabled affiliate link sends you through Awin to the merchant so Awin can attribute a purchase. The referral can identify squishsome.com as its source without including search words or page query strings. Awin receives referral and device/connection information, and merchants can send transaction details such as order value and product type. We may receive referral, transaction and commission reports. This is separate from Google Analytics.
Without referral-cookie permission, enabled affiliate links send Awin a no-consent signal. Awin says it omits its referral cookie and click identifier on that redirect. The navigation still contacts Awin; it is not a promise of no data processing or successful attribution. Global Privacy Control or our sharing opt-out instead sends you directly to the merchant, bypassing Awin’s redirect.
The merchant receives its own requests and may still use its own cookies and tracking, including Awin-related channel cookies, under its policies and choices. It also handles checkout, payment and order information. Changing choices here affects future links; it cannot remove cookies or data already held by Awin or a merchant. Read Awin’s consumer privacy information and our affiliate disclosure.
Cookies, preferences and retention
| Storage or data | Purpose and duration |
|---|
| Privacy choices | We honor saved choices for 60 days. After expiry, optional tracking stays off until you choose again. An analytics rejection saved under an earlier notice remains off until its original expiry. The browser record includes purposes, notice version and times; an expired record may remain until replaced or cleared. Sharing opt-outs remain until removed or browser storage is cleared. Choices are not synchronized across devices. Blocking storage limits a choice to the visit; clearing it restores the defaults. |
|---|
| Privacy choice records | We keep a limited history of choices and changes, using a random browser receipt number, notice version, choices, privacy signals and timestamps. Each record is scheduled for deletion 550 days (about 18 months) after we receive it; AWS deletion may take a few additional days. Retrying a save does not extend its deadline. This period covers our analytics retention and time to handle questions about a choice. These records document your choices; they contain no names, email addresses, searches, photos or browsing history, and their identifiers are not sent to Google or Awin. Access is restricted to operating the site and handling privacy requests. AWS processes and stores these records in the US. Its endpoint also receives connection information to deliver the request. A record documents choices and changes; it does not identify a verified person. |
|---|
| Google Analytics cookies | Our prefixed analytics cookies identify visits while analytics is on. They can last two years and renew with activity; browser controls may shorten this. Turning analytics off clears our removable first-party analytics cookies. |
|---|
| Analytics tab session | A small browser-session record groups actions, with a 30-minute inactivity timeout. It contains no typed search words or photos. |
|---|
| GA4 reports and events | User/event retention is set to 14 months, with user-identifier expiry refreshed on activity. This does not extend every old event. The 14-month setting does not apply to standard aggregate reports; demographic and interest data have a two-month limit. We have no BigQuery archive. |
|---|
| Awin information | Awin generally retains tracking data for up to three years, and certain pseudonymous data for up to five years for limited internal analysis. Referral-cookie and merchant attribution windows are separate. See Awin’s policy for its controls. |
|---|
| Consent-service operational logs | We set a 14-day retention period for technical runtime logs; deletion can take a few additional days. Our application does not log submitted choice records, IP addresses or request headers. |
|---|
| Website hosting logs | AWS documents Amplify access-log retention until the hosted app is deleted. These delivery and security logs are separate from Google Analytics and consent records. |
|---|
| Messages and privacy requests | We normally delete routine correspondence within 12 months after resolution. We keep a minimal record of privacy requests and our response for 24 months. We may retain specific records longer when required by law or needed for an identified dispute; we restrict their use to that purpose. |

Why we use this information
With your permission, analytics helps us understand use of the site. Advertising features and referral cookies require separate permission. We use necessary service information and choice records to run and secure the site, honor your choices and demonstrate how we handled them, based on our legitimate interests and applicable legal obligations. We use messages to answer you and handle requests. You can turn optional tracking off and still contact us or use the site.
Your choices and requests
Use Privacy choices to accept, reject or customize optional purposes at any time. Reject optional turns analytics, advertising and referral cookies off. Accept all is subject to an active sharing opt-out. Closing the choices panel or continuing to browse does not grant permission. Google Analytics, Google advertising and Awin referral cookies stay off until you allow them. Turning analytics off stops further collection immediately, even if saving its record fails; it does not erase information already received by Google. New optional tracking permissions wait until their record is saved. We do not replay earlier searches or clicks when you later turn analytics on.
We honor Global Privacy Control by disabling Google advertising features and using shop links that bypass Awin’s redirect. Usage analytics remains a separate choice. You can also use “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” to apply that opt-out. We preserve it when the browser signal disappears; removing it does not automatically restore old permissions. We do not separately change our settings in response to the older Do Not Track signal.
Advertising disclosures and transfers can fall within sale, sharing or targeted-advertising definitions under some privacy laws. Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal information, withdraw consent, object or appeal a decision. Contact us to make a request or ask about our response. We may need proportionate information to verify a request; please do not send passwords, payment details or identity documents in an initial email. We will not discriminate against you for exercising applicable rights. You may also complain to the privacy regulator where you live when applicable.
Recipients and processing locations
Google, Awin, AWS and the merchant you visit receive information for the functions described above. Our email provider and Namecheap’s email-forwarding service handle messages you choose to send us. These providers may process information in the US and other countries under their own terms and applicable transfer arrangements. The links above explain Google’s and Awin’s practices.
Children
SquishSome is intended for adults and is not marketed to children. An adult may shop for a child or choose together with a child. We do not ask for birthdays or children’s identities. If you believe we have collected personal information from a child under 13, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
